Malaysia finish second in SEABA meet

  SINGAPORE: The Malaysian mens basketball team warmed up for the Singapore SEA Games next month by finishing runners-up in the South-East Asian Basketball (SEABA) Championships.

It earned Malaysia a spot in the FIBA Asia Championships, which will be held in Changsa, China, from Sept 23-Oct 3.

The national cagers wrapped up their fifth and final game by thrashing Laos 85-53 at the OCBC Arena in Singapore.

Philippine team thrashed host Singapore 82-56, to complete its dominant run.

It was the seventh SEABA title for the Philippines which stamped its class anew as the the top basketball team in the region.
